Schauffele Takes 1-Shot Lead Over Buddy Cantlay at Traveler

Xander Schauffele shot a three-below sixty seven on Saturday

to take a one-stroke lead over true buddy and playing accomplice Patrick Cantlay

round of the Travelers Championship.

Xander Schauffele shot a 3-under 67 on Saturday to take a one-stroke

lead over good friend and playing partner Patrick Cantlay

into the final round of the Travelers Championship.

Schauffele had a 17-underneath 193 overall at TPC River Highlands. Cantlay shot sixty three.

Rookie Sahith Theegala become third at 14 below after a round of sixty four,

and Kevin Kisner had a sixty six to get to thirteen below.

Schauffele began the day at 14 under with a five-stroke lead.

The Olympic champion birdied the second hollow for the third time this week and had any other at No. 6,

part of a career-high-quality run of forty eight holes with out a bogey.

But he placed his tee shot at thirteen inside the water and in short fell right into a tie for the lead after a bogey.

He broke his minor birdie drought at 16, then hit the pin on his technique at 17 and sank another.

Schauffele and Cantlay had been close buddies due to the fact

 that being paired together at the 2019 Presidents Cup in Australia and that

they combined to win the Zurich Classic this season.

Schauffele is looking for his sixth person name and first since the 2019 Sentry Tournament of Champions.

He is also capturing for his 6th instantly top-20 end.

He and Cantlay completed tied for 14th remaining week inside the U.S. Open.
